StoriWeb is built to be a simple, private place to read short stories. We collect only the information we need to provide the app, maintain your account, and remember the stories you've saved or read.
This Privacy Policy explains how StoriWeb ("StoriWeb", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the StoriWeb app and related services.
By using StoriWeb, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We collect limited information needed to provide StoriWeb.
Account information. When you create or access a StoriWeb account, we collect your email address. StoriWeb uses passwordless email magic-link authentication.
We do not ask you to provide or collect a display name as part of the StoriWeb account.
Reading information. We store information associated with your account that allows us to provide features such as:
This reading information helps StoriWeb remember your saved stories and avoid repeatedly showing you the same content.
Story submissions. If you choose to submit a story to StoriWeb, we may receive the story, your email address, and any other information you choose to include in your submission.
StoriWeb currently does not use analytics, advertising, cross-app tracking, or location tracking.

By submitting a story, you understand that StoriWeb may review the submission for possible inclusion in the StoriWeb Readers' Stories section.
Submission does not guarantee publication. If we are interested in publishing your story, we may contact you using the information provided with your submission.
If a submitted story is selected for publication, we may need additional information from you to arrange payment and complete the publication process. We will only request information that is reasonably necessary for those purposes.
StoriWeb uses Supabase to provide authentication and database services.
Your account information and StoriWeb data are stored and processed through our Supabase project. Supabase provides infrastructure and services that allow StoriWeb to authenticate users and securely access application data.
We use Row Level Security (RLS) to help restrict access to user data according to the permissions defined by our application.
Supabase may process information on our behalf as a service provider. Its handling of information is also subject to its own policies and contractual obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share personal information with advertising networks or data brokers.
We may share or provide access to information to service providers that help us operate StoriWeb, such as our authentication and database provider, Supabase.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, protect the rights or safety of StoriWeb and its users, or prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.
We retain account and reading information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide StoriWeb and maintain your account.
When you delete your StoriWeb account, we will delete your account and associated personal data from our systems, subject to information we may be required to retain by law or that may need to be retained for legitimate legal or security purposes.
Story submissions may be retained as reasonably necessary to review submissions, manage publication, maintain records of published content, or meet legal or contractual obligations.
You can delete your StoriWeb account directly from within the app.
Deleting your account is intended to remove your account and associated personal information, including information associated with your saved stories and reading history, subject to any information we are legally required or otherwise permitted to retain.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information used by StoriWeb from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
StoriWeb is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way that is not appropriate, please contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as StoriWeb evolves or our data practices change.
